I hit 40 years old yesterday, the 3rd February 2018. It started off on an aeroplane that was getting ready to take off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, en route to the UK at midnight. The cabin crew gave me a glass of champagne to celebrate as we lifted off at the start of the 13 hour flight.
The day continued when I reached Bath and collected my son – we didn’t do much, other than hang out, but that’s all I wanted to do after been on such a long flight.
After dropping him home in the early evening, I met up with some friends for some drinks before making my way to a local Indian restaurant for a very late night Butter Chicken and a small glass of sherry.
All in all, not a bad start to my 40s and, as you’d imagine, reaching this milestone has caused me to reflect somewhat on my life up to now, and what I want my life to be in the years to come. I’ve got another twenty years of work ahead of me, and I’m in a great place to maximise my potential.
The next few weeks are important though, and it’s going to be a busy time while I readjust to changes both old and new. My first motivation is my health – that needs to and will improve this year.
