The news today has been full of the horrifying accident in Glasgow. It’s not totally clear what’s happened, as things are still being coming out. The crux of it is that a garbage truck ploughed through a footpath in Central Glasgow hitting multiple pedestrians.
As of 6pm, six people have been confirmed as being killed by the out of control dump truck, with more seriously injured. For this to happen at any time is awful, but for it to happen three days before Christmas is heartbreaking for those affected. I can’t begin to imagine the feelings that are running through the minds of those who have lost loved ones, or those who are having to deal with potentially life-threatening and life-changing injuries.
It’s a bit difficult to wish people a Happy Christmas when news like this is on the television.
All I can do is say a prayer for those affected, and hope that those who are injured make as full a recovery as they’re able to. I’m sure I won’t be alone in this tonight.
